Papers For Film Studies Courses

If you’re taking a class in film studies, these are some of the papers you can look forward to writing:

  1. Formal analysis.   This type of paper requires breaking down a film into component parts and discussing how each of those plays its own role in forming the entirety of the work.
  2. Film history.  Here, you look at a film through the larger context of history.  How did world events, advancements in science and other historical factors affect its creation?  In turn, what kind of impact will it make in our culture and society, as a while?  There is literally a wide area of topics to choose from, so narrowing down to subsets that make sense for a paper will be your biggest challenge.
  3. Cultural studies.  Films are often mirrors of the culture in which they were created – they reflect the values, beliefs and general sentiments of the people for whom they were made for.  This is why it’s often hard to appreciate movies made in unfamiliar cultures and it’s these differences in the way we think that make cultural studies papers such an interesting project.
  4. Ideological papers.  Many films are made to promote a specific set of beliefs.  In ideological papers, you examine these patterns of thought that stick out at the forefront of a movie, analyzing both their presentation and merit.

Like any kind of written work for school, film study papers will benefit from the use of an effective writing software.  Make sure you use one.
